It’s time to head on out to enjoy some holiday cheer in Albany. Whether it’s Christmas festivities, Hanukkah activities or New Year’s events, CapCity CoWorks has you covered with a roundup of some events taking place around the region.

Through Jan. 3 – Capital Holiday Lights in the Park, a daily recurring event. Sundays-Thursdays, 6-9 p.m.; Fridays and Saturdays, 6-10 p.m. at Washington Park, State and Willet Streets. More than 125 displays and scenes. Filled with light displays, craft vendors, holiday treats and even Santa visits. Click here for more details

Dec. 14 – The Holidays at PS21: Carnegie’s Ensemble Connect, Poulenc and Messiaen, presented by Performance Spaces for the 21st Century, 2980 Route 66, Chatham at 5 p.m. PS21 will present two celebrated 20th Century chamber works, played by Ensemble Connect. Ensemble Connect is a group of extraordinary classical musicians who take part in a two-year fellowship program created by a partnership of Carnegie Hall, The Julliard School, the Weill Music Institute and the New York City Department of Education. Dec. 14 and 15 – The Nutcracker- Albany Berkshire Ballet at The Egg, Empire State Plaza, at 1:30-3:30 p.m. Albany Berkshire Ballet (ABB) will present its 45th annual tour of The Nutcracker. ABB’s Nutcracker features magnificent principal dancers from around the country accompanied by 150-200 local area students per city in its youth casts. Click here for more details

Dec. 22 – Chanukah Sky High at Clifton Park Chabad Jewish Center, 495 Moe Road, Clifton Park at 3:30 p.m. Light a one-of-a-kind sky-high menorah! Latkes, rainbow donuts, cloud candy, music, raffles and crafts. First-ever gelt drop. Click here for more details

Dec. 22 – Temple Israel’s 14th Annual Chanukah Extravaganza, Temple Israel, 600 New Scotland Ave., Albany at 4-7 p.m. Click here for more details

Dec. 28 – Colonie Center Grand Chanukah Celebration at Colonie Center at 131 Colonie Center, Albany, from 7-8:30 p.m. Public Menorah Lighting, live music, kids’ crafts, Latkes, doughnuts, balloonist and face painting. Click here for more details

Dec. 29 – New Year’s Mid-Day Celebration at New York State Museum, 222 Madison Ave., Empire State Plaza at noon-3 p.m. Ring in the new year with friends at the NYS Museum. Make your own 1920s headpiece to take home with you, take a fun photo, or dance in celebration of 2020! The Museum’s New Year Countdown will be held at 3 p.m. at Skyscraper City in Metropolis Hall. Dec. 31 – First Night Bethlehem, Presented By: Bethlehem Chamber of Commerce at Four Corners, 406 Kenwood Ave, Suite 11, Delmar, at 6-10 p.m. A family friendly way to ring in the New Year. The Four Corners are closed to traffic for fireworks. Enjoy the music of Saxophone Sam or take pictures at the ice sculpture. After the fireworks, visit the multiple venues through town for music, dance, crafts and food. Click here for more details

Dec. 31 – Frozen In Time Noon Year’s Eve Holiday Party at Colonie Center Mall, 131 Colonie Center, Center Court at 10:30 a.m. Wear a Frozen In Time outfit for the balloon drop at noon.

Dec. 31 – New Year’s Eve Party 2020 at City Beer Hall, 42 Howard St., from 10 p.m. to 2 a.m. A countdown to a huge balloon drop at midnight, along with a free champagne toast.
